Slowly emerging as a tourist destination, Sarajevo is only now starting to develop the tourist infrastructure that a well-traveled visitor is accustomed to seeing in other European countries. Although it is manageable in size, Sarajevo can be a little confusing to visitors unfamiliar with variances of Slavic languages. Most of the signage is in Bosnian and taxi and tram drivers rarely speak English. It is therefore advisable to pick up a copy of Sarajevo Navigator (PDF download available) and to check out www.sonar.ba for thorough information. If you still feel like you need help, it is advisable to visit Sarajevo Tourist Information Centers (TICs) or any travel agency in the city as they will be more than happy to help you. |
